Chard Reservoir Local Nature Reserve

Chard Reservoir Local Nature Reserve offers a diverse natural habitat ideal for bird watching, walking, and family activities.

Introduction

Chard Reservoir Local Nature Reserve is a great place to watch birds and go for a walk. There are grassy areas with lots of flowers, and some trees and woods around the big lake.

You can even find a small play area for children that uses natural wood and things from the site.

The nature reserve has water, woods, flower fields, and places with reeds and mud. These areas help lots of animals and birds live here.

You can see amazing views across the water, no matter what the weather or season is. The reserve is close to Chard town centre. It only takes about 15 minutes to walk there, and you will feel like you are in the countryside.

There are paths from the main car park at Oaklands Avenue. These paths go through flower fields to the play area and bird hide. Other paths take you to the water’s edge, a special bird viewing spot, and the woods.

How to get here
