Wilstock and Stockmoor Country Park

Wilstock and Stockmoor Country Park is a large, open space on the edge of Bridgwater.

Introduction

Wilstock and Stockmoor Country Park has fields, ponds, streams, young trees, a playground, and a games area. Lots of animals and plants live here, so it’s a great place to see wildlife, especially birds and bugs.

The land is called a grazing marsh. It helps stop flooding in the area by letting water collect there. The water slowly moves into the streams and ditches and then goes into the River Parrett.

Paths go right through the park, so you can easily walk or cycle between Wilstock and Stockmoor. The park is next to Hamp too, so people from all three places can use it. Somerset Council and a local group called Friends of Wilstock and Stockmoor Country Park look after the park. They run events, learning activities, and volunteering days for people to help out.

How to get here

There are about twelve ways to get into the park.

The main entrances are on:

• Wilstock Way
• Limousin Way
• Wills Road
• Rhode Land
• Sorrel Drive.

You can find map boards around the park to help you find your way.

Parking

There are no car parks, but you can park on the nearby streets (please be considerate when parking). There is a hard path that goes through the whole park, so it’s easy to walk or cycle between Wilstock and Stockmoor.
