Wildlife
Many kinds of animals live in the park. You can often see birds like grey herons, great white egrets, and green woodpeckers. Swans make their nests here every year. Birds of prey, such as buzzards, kestrels, and sparrowhawks, sometimes fly over looking for food. Other common birds are stonechats, linnets, and meadow pipits. You can also hear the Cetti’s warbler, which lives here all year. In winter, redwings and fieldfares visit the park.
Otters and water voles use the streams and ditches. Sometimes, you might even spot a deer or find a nest made by harvest mice in the grass. Grass snakes and slow worms also live here. The ponds are full of different water insects, and in summer, many dragonflies fly around them.
