Why Volunteer?

Do you love nature and want to give something back? Join our growing community of volunteers who help care for Somerset’s beautiful parks and nature reserves.

Volunteering with the Green Estates team is a great way to:

  • Protect local wildlife and improve habitats
  • Learn new skills in conservation and land management
  • Meet like-minded people who care about the environment
  • Get active outdoors and boost your wellbeing
  • Make a real impact in your local community

What you can do

Whether you have a few hours here and there or can offer regular help, there’s a role for you:

  • Lend a hand with practical conservation work
  • Help run events and educational activities
  • Join litter picks and site maintenance days
  • Support our wildlife monitoring and citizen science projects
  • Assist at our Ham Hill Visitor Centre

No experience needed

We welcome adult volunteers of all ages and backgrounds. Our friendly rangers will provide all the training and tools you need – just bring your enthusiasm!
